JensenIT is an established IT Service Provider located in Des Plaines, IL and we're looking for eager and talented Junior Systems Engineers to join our team. Qualified candidates will help monitor and maintain a varied array of client networks. Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Have at least one year working on an IT Help Desk and will have experience with a ticketing / time tracking system
- Is familiar with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems and has a documented background supporting these systems
- Is flexible and can work in a high-paced environment including on-call rotation for off-hours support
- Be personable, both on the phone and in person
- Has excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Has an upbeat, positive attitude
- Can work and contribute as part of a team, but can also work independently to complete tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision
- Has reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and insurance
Required Technical Skills:
- At least one year hands-on experience with Windows Servers including Active Directory
- Experience with AD group policies and OU hierarchies
- Working knowledge on other Microsoft products such as Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint
- Working knowledge of Office 365 (M365) and Azure AD
- Familiarity with server hardware (primarily HP/Dell/Lenovo)
- Working knowledge of networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, wireless networking, IPv6, firewalls, routing and switching, DHCP, DNS, and cabling
- CCNA, CCNP a plus
- Experience with hypervisors i.e. VMWare, Hyper-V, and Citrix
- Working knowledge of network security technologies such as WatchGuard and Cisco firewalls and IDS
- Experience with WMI and SNMP for system monitoring and knowledge of monitoring tools such as ConnectWise Automate
- Experience with ConnectWise Manage or other time tracking/ticketing software
